Taking over the much-loved East Terrace Continental (ETC) site, the bar component of Siberia opened quietly way back in February to capitalise on its prime spot across from The Garden of Unearthly Delights. The restaurant renovation was yet to be commenced, and so COVID conveniently provided the time to do so and fully prepare the venture which will officially open July 17th.

Siberia Bar & Restaurant now sits where the much-loved East Terrace Continental once was. Serge and Elena Ambrose took over the site with the intention of opening both a European inspired restaurant, and an accompanying bar also able to stand on its own. Initially conceptualised as a vodka bar, the upstairs space champions South Australian spirits, and is also serving Prancing Pony Purity brews and Tomich Wine.

With the current climate some may think it’s not a great time to start a business. However, for those with dreams and grand ideas this isn’t enough to stop their aspirations. For Serge and Elena there is no time like the present to do something special. Introducing Siberia, the latest in dining experiences on East Terrace. Siberia aims to introduce Adelaide to the natural and wild flavours of the Russian landscape. With a focus on game meat and forest produce and herbs, Siberia looks to recreate the flavours and atmosphere of the hunter’s cottage sitting out in the Siberian tundra.
